Curricula: Internship Logs and Supervisor Workflows

Dalrymple Ramos

Project overview

Curricula is a modern internship management website built for students, supervisors, and administrators who want a streamlined way to oversee educational programs.

Daily logbooks, live progress, performance metrics, and automated reports share one dashboard. Students and supervisors can follow the same internship record instead of gathering updates from separate tools.

Curricula organizes internship logs, submissions, and supervisor feedback. The intended workflow connects a student's recorded work with the supervisor responsible for that internship.

Implementation focus#

My implementation focus is the data contract behind those roles. The project uses Next.js, Clerk, Convex, and Serwist. The inspected log and internship functions show how authentication, assignment, and time calculations interact.

Derive access from the relationship#

Server functions resolve the authenticated identity to a user record. Student internship lookup normalizes the email address. Supervisor operations check the role and the internship's supervisor identifier instead of relying only on a visible interface control.

The log links to an internship, and the internship links to its assigned supervisor. That relationship is the basis for deciding who can act on the record.

Define how hours are computed#

Manual time input validates the hour and minute ranges and requires the end to follow the start. The current calculation handles a same-day interval and caps the recorded duration at nine hours.

Timestamp-based tracking subtracts paused time from elapsed time, then clamps the result to the application's allowed range. Displayed dates and times explicitly use Asia/Manila.

Those choices are application rules. They are not a claim about every institution's internship policy or legal requirements, and the manual interval rule does not cover overnight work.

Result and limits#

The source demonstrates role-aware records and explicit time semantics. It does not establish institutional adoption, administrative approval, or measured time savings. The clearest next validation is representative student and supervisor workflows, including date boundaries and reassignment.
